YES, because the law now prescribes that SHS is a part of compulsory basic education. You will need to go through it in order to graduate High School.
What if i do not want to go to SHS?
Technically, it's your choice. But you won't get a high school diploma. You will be called a Grade 10 completer. But you will miss out on the benefits of a full High School graduate.
Why would i choose STEM strand?
There are four strands under the academic strand. One of them is STEM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. For students who are inclined towards or have the aptitude for Math or Science or Engineering studies. Studying and working in STEM means learning about the world around you, finding innovative solutions to real-world challenges, and playing a role in some of the country's major discoveries and development. STEM is hard. Likely the most difficult challenge you've ever considered taking on. Even the most gifted and driven students struggle with it.
